June 2018 "I originally approached Wayne at Jalmer with only a vague concept for an iron gate at our front door. Wayne invited me to come to his workshop to discuss potential designs and from there it has been a wonderfully creative process, searching for a translation of my desire to reflect the trees about my house, to Wayne’s engaging creations.
Wayne is an intensely creative artist, with the ability to render in steel the beauty of the natural world. He always listens carefully to the client’s needs but fulfills those needs with such artistic flair and originality. The colours and shapes Wayne can produce in steel are breath-taking.
It has been such a great experience working with Wayne to produce our special gate that I cannot wait for our next project to appear.

"Wayne Jeffery is truly and Artisan of ferrous metals. The design work and skilled crafting that went into our balustrade across the front of our house has added a WOW factor that still gets comments even from frequent visitors. The sturdiness and quality of materials is old school, the fit was perfect and the service and attention to detail stood Wayne apart from the other tradespeople that worked on our project. We were really impressed and appreciative. Its 11 meters of beautiful art……Thank you, Wayne."

About Wayne Jeffery
Wayne grew up in rural New Zealand in the Wairarapa just north of Wellington in the North Island. Since childhood, Wayne has developed a passion for many forms of art – sculpture, drawing and oil painting.
After developing his skills in iron work, he discovered a talent for consulting with clients to design and fabricate unique pieces to suit the architecture of their homes. With a strong client base from Sydney’s exclusive North Shore and Eastern Suburbs, he successfully created Jalmer Wrought Iron with his wife Wendy, where he worked on commissioned wrought iron projects including ornate gates, balustrades, doors and furniture.
On moving to Perth in 2007, he started working on a new form of sculpture that reflects the old masters of the medium with modern welding methods.
About the artworks
Wayne’s fine artworks mainly reflect Australian animals and natural settings. These works are built from mainly recycled steel.
Each piece is handcrafted and all are signed originals (major pieces with Certificates of Authenticity). Wayne does not work from drawings – instead letting inspiration or a particular piece of steel influence the final result.
Works are displayed at fine art galleries throughout Western Australia (see our contacts page), as well as his own showroom in Perth. His works are now sought by private art collectors both in Australia and internationally.
