Landscape features that restore treasures of the past...
This landscape by Martin Cuthbert Landscapes features two pieces by artist Wayne Jeffery, from Jalmer Wrought Iron.
The first is the letterbox, which has a hand-cut design that reflects the client's love of the rural landscape where they spend a lot of their time.
"The letterbox artwork not only adds a unique feature to the landscape, but it also has functionality being lockable, able to hold A4 envelopes and has the 'light box' design that enables visitors to find you at night." said creater Wayne Jeffery.
The second piece included some antique mill stones that the client wanted to use as part of their landscape to make it truly their own.
Wayne designed some eucalyptus tree stands for the front and back yard which hold these stones to create an art feature. These are also made from recycled steel, which adds to the overall effect.
Jalmer specialises in restoring antiques, and an example of an antique cross is shown below that was sandblasted, cleaned and antiqued to make it better than its original state. Jalmer also built custom stands for the client to assist in taking the weight of the item.
