Looking to an exciting artistic year ahead in 2016
At the end of another year it is a good time to reflect on the good....and the not-so-good.... that has lead us to where we are now. All poised and awaiting an exciting 2016!
Wayne Jeffery has created some amazing artworks, most of which have been incorporated into architectural features - gates, fences, balustrades - to homes all over Perth.
The most popular for 2015 has been his organic grape vine design. The photo shown was installed in East Perth, and when sitting on their patio it has the look and feel now of the South of France.
Another interesting job was the Swan River gates in Ascot, which have gained a lot of attention. The gates depicted a scene of native trees, bullrushes and native animals such as blue wrens, herons and lizards to create something truly spectacular.
Our trademark on many jobs continues to be the little blue fairy wren, with it's beautiful irridescent colouring, and the play of the male and female colourings. These are all hand sculptured by Wayne.
Following the grapevine work, the eucalyptus tree work has continued to be a favourite among many clients. Allowing a touch of Australiana to portico's to create a natural flow, instead of looking out of bars. Our new range of smaller sculptures and homewares have also been a big hit for those looking for special gifts, and we are expanding the range all the time.
The work we do is custom-designed to our clients need. Whether using artistic elements to block the sun at a certain time of day, privacy screening with obscure glass, to decorative mirrors or creative use of artwork return panels or artwork to hide elements the clients would like to obscure. It really shows the diversity of what we do.
Our work with recycled steel also brings us great satisfaction that we are converting metal from the wastepile into beautiful works of art that will endure for the long term.
We were also thrilled with the result of the 'So Unexpected' Exhibition, which really showed the diversity and talents of local Perth Hills artists last September. We would like to thank our many clients who joined us for the Opening Night and supported the artists by buying their works.
And like many years, there are certainly parts that have been not-so-good, but it's about the lessons contained in each one. Wayne's car accident in May certainly rocked our world and made us appreciate all that we have and that he was very lucky!
So thanks again for working with us at Jalmer Wrought Iron and your patience if your work was delayed while we got over the accident. We have greatly enjoyed the many and varied jobs that have come through our doors and have many more exciting work to do in the new year. One of which will be a balustrade with the music to the song 'hallelujah' which will be different to anything we have done before, so come back and visit our website again soon.
